Sage Knowledge provides SFU with access to e-books from Sage. You can search across all the Sage online encyclopedias and handbooks SFU owns or you can search individual titles.

Licensee and Authorized Users may use a Reasonable Amount (not more than 10%) of the Licensed Materials for use in connection with specific courses of instruction offered by Licensee.

Licensee and Authorized Users may use a Reasonable Amount (not more than 10%) of the Licensed Materials in the preparation of Course Packs or other educational materials.

Licensee shall be permitted to use Reasonable Amounts of the Licensed Materials to fulfill occasional requests from other, non participating institutions, a practice commonly called Inter-Library Loan. Customer agrees to fulfill such requests in compliance with Section 108 of the United States Copyright Law (17 USC §108, “Limitations on exclusive rights: Reproduction by libraries and archives”) and the Guidelines for the Proviso of Subsection 108(2g)(2) prepared by the National Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works (CONTU). The electronic form of the Licensed Materials may be used as a source for ILL. Secure electronic transmission as used by Ariel or Prospero to fulfill ILL requests is permitted. Participating Libraries agree that copyright notices will be sent on all ILL transmissions. Fulfillment of Loansome DocR service requests is permitted. Non-secure electronic transmission of files is not permitted.

Terms of use: Electronic resources are governed by license agreements which restrict access to Authorized Users. It is the responsibility of each user to abide by the license agreements and specific terms and conditions for each product. Systematically downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information may result in loss of access to these resources for the entire SFU community. Please see SFU General Policy 24 on Fair Use of Information Resources.

Personal Privacy: Some licensed resources allow you to create a personal account for the purposes of creating folders, saving searches, and downloading entire e-books as well as other personalized services. Please be advised that the personal information you disclose to these and other external websites may be stored on servers located outside of Canada. When you use these services, no personal information about you is collected by or for the University. Canadian privacy laws do not apply to personal information you provide directly to these external websites. SFU Library recommends that you review the privacy policies of these and other external websites before using the services.
