Art Index cites articles from more than 220 periodicals published throughout the world. Some articles are included in full text. Reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals are indexed. Subjects include: Antiques, Archaeology, Architecture, Art history, City Planning, Computer graphics, Drawing, Film, Glassware, Graphic Arts, Jewellery, Painting, Performance Art, and Sculpture

Materials indexed: English-language periodicals, yearbooks,and museum bulletins, as well as periodicals published in French,Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish, Dutch and Swedish. Also includes reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals.

The license reaffirms basic usage rights, including walk-in users, ILL, and scholarly sharing. Note that in a minority of cases publishers are not willing to grant a particular right, in which case the publisher will prominently post a note on the content indicating the restriction.
