LexisNexis® Academic is a service covering news, business, and legal topics. It contains more than 6,000 sources from all over the world, drawn from print, broadcast, and online media. The deep backfile allows for discover of contemporary accounts of events that took place decades ago. Includes up-to-the-minute stories in national and regional newspapers, wire services, broadcast transcripts, international news, and non-English language sources.

Also provides access to the renowned Shepard's Citations® service for all federal and states court cases back to 1789, recognized as the standard for legal research.

LexisNexis Academic should not be the sole resource utilized to conduct research in science or medicine, or to locate peer-reviewed journal articles other than from law reviews. Some of these types of materials are included in LexisNexis Academic, but these are not the main strengths of the service. Content includes:
